And The Birthday Happiness Continues!

Hey everybody!!! Well, I'm here to report that I almost didn't make it through my birthday! Last night I went out for dinner. One of the things that I like so much about my neighborhood, is that I can easily walk to so many wonderful restaurants. So out we went last. After dinner, it was such a wonderful evening that we decided to take a walk through our neighborhood shopping area. This was a very German neighborhood at one time. Although most of the old Germans are either gone or have moved away, the ambiance still remains. It's especially pretty this time of year. I was crossing a street....in the crosswalk. A car had stopped at the stop sign. I saw the man's face, I thought he saw me, but he literally gunned it as he left the stop sign. I screamed as I knew I was going to be hit. I really believe that my guardian angel picked me up and moved me just enough so that I wasn't hit. It was incredible. The man did stop, but I wasn't hurt, although angry at this point, so there was nothing to do, thank goodness. So....I'm still here and still giving away fabric to celebrate my birthday week! Once again, thank goodness!
We have a winner to announce!! Congratulations, it's Dashingmarmot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Send me your address so I can get the fabric out to you, sewbussted@yahoo.com
Don't fret if you did not win today. There are two more days to go in this little celebration.
Today's piece is the dove grey. It is very pretty. There will be 3 yards, just as with the other pieces and it is 60" wide.
If your name is already in the box, I will leave it in the box unless you would rather not win this piece of fabric. So if you have left a message on the last two pieces of fabric, and you would like a chance at this piece, you will not need to leave a new message.
If you have not left a message yet and you would like a chance to win this piece, just leave a message on this post by 8 a.m. central time tomorrow, 12/14/12.
The rules are that you must be a follower of this blog, you know that pesky little blue box in the top right hand corner that says, "Join this site." The two that have won, Daisy and Dashingmarmot are no longer eligible. Be sure to leave a message by 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. That's it.
Good luck everybody!
Wow, this is fun ;)

  1. I'm so happy you are ok! You must have been scared to death.(I imagine your husband was too!) There are so many drivers out there that don't look carefully enough before they take off. **hugs** Anne

  2. I'm already in the hat; just want to give a big-hearted smile to all the guardian angels out there, and yours in particular for last night :). Maybe your experience with that driver helped wake him up so that he drives with more awareness.

  7. Omg how terrifying!!! So glad you're alright. I know I don't know you but have a big huge virtual hug.
(It seems crude to talk about mundane things like colours and giveaways after your scary near miss, but can I sit this one out, grey and I aren't good friends)
Gosh, what a mad thing to happen on your birthday (not that any other day would be great either...) Best wishes for the year ahead.

  9. Keep me in the box!!

That was a close call. I think I would have spewed some serious vulgarity at the person but that's me. I am so glad you are safe. Things like this underline that we were meant for something special and it just isn't time yet.

  19. I just checked you post now and was shocked to hear that you were almost hit by a car! Thank goodness you are OK. My in-laws were in a car accident earlier this year and it was traumatic for the whole family. I am also shocked to see I won too. Thanks!!! I'll contact you soon.
