A week or so ago, I came across a picture of this coat and my first thought was WOW!! It's from the 2015 Chanel Resort collection. Of course I had to take a closer look at the collection. I've pulled out a few of my favorite pieces and I've included the video of the show at the bottom of the post. The video is about 20 minutes long, so a little long, but well worth the time spent. A number of the pieces that I didn't care for in the still pictures, I loved when I saw them move. The video is shot well, so you do get a close up of the details. Something we all like to see :) So grab a cup of coffee, or if you are like me, a cup of tea, take a break and enjoy the show!!!
Have a wonderful week!!!
Rhonda
I see some seriously big hair in our future! Some of those outfits are fabulous, I particularly love the one with the turquoise sweater. I would buy that in a heartbeat....if I hit the lottery!
ReplyDeleteThe lottery is right, and a big one at that!!!!!
DeleteI also noticed the curls and it made me feel a little better about the curly hair that I've been wearing lately :)
I loved the show. Boucle is back. The jewelry fashion gone to longer chains and layered. Everything was represented.... If I had to 'pick' a favorite it was the white rose jacket..
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it :) I thought the video was amazing.
DeleteWow! that is some exuberant print mixing. I wish I could get my hands on some of those textiles. The thing that surprised me the most--all those pants! Especially the boucle skinny pants.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video--it do go well with my tea.
I was rather surprised with the boule pants too. But did you notice the pair with the frayed band around the ankle? I liked the touch.
DeleteI'm still wiping the drool off my chin. So many ideas . . . loved all the colors, and then the lack of them. The black outfits at the end with the almost skyline-like trim at the hems, the boucle, those gold pants. This is the best Chanel collection I've seen in ages. Thanks, Rhonda.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too! So happy that you enjoyed it.
DeleteThank you so much for this post. The video was outstanding. Karl Lagerfeld set a very high bar with this collection, and I love how fresh the clothes are within the Chanel tradition. I'd say he also offered a slight bow to Yves Saint Laurent of old. What inspiration to be found here!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think about the YSL comparison, but you're right. It really is such a lovely collection. Glad you enjoyed it :)
DeleteI enjoyed it too...going to look at it again...thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about this collection is the designer has catered for every different body type across the range. Mmm sounds like good design. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, how wonderful, thanks so much for sharing !!
ReplyDeletePants under dresses? I'm having a hard time adjusting to that trend. I've seen it on tv and wondered if the lady was freezing or what. SO MUCH FUN to watch. I saw a lot of things I loved including the pearl belt on the black pants. Something I could make besides earrings and bracelets. As for the puffy, curly hair, it would definitely be a wig for me, lol, as I'm assuming many of those were. Some of the purses were really cute too. Didn't care for the one that looked like a large shiny silver/gold ball from a Christmas tree. Thanks so much for sharing the video!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Joy
Thanks for sharing this video, Rhonda. It was amazing. I think it was the best Chanel show for ages too. I was SO inspired. I love all the silhouettes, very 60-70's. I hated all the bland colours at first but after a while they looked great. I loved the jackets with the structured sleeves. I am off to watch this again. xx
ReplyDeleteA stunning collection - perhaps too bedazzling to be wearable? But I do love the hint of black ruffle on the white blouse.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking! I loved the pants and the excellent use of proportion. There is a slight retro feel of 70's and 80's in this collection and the exuberance of print and color is wonderful. Nearly all of these looks could be worn, slightly toned down, by someone of my age who doesn't want skirt and dress lengths up to her hiney. Now, how could I make use of this inspiration?
ReplyDeleteThese are so colorful and I love the cropped sweater and chiffon dress sooo much!
ReplyDeleteLate to the show but adding my thanks. It's a joy to see those fabrics, my fingers twitch from wanting to reach into the screen and touch them.
