Monday Morning Inspiration/Flower Power Fashion

Jill of The Denver Sewing Collective recently shared a link to a very interesting website, Moomooi. Now it's no secret that I love flowers, so...this was right up my alley :)

Moomooi is the work of Meredith Wing. Her training and background is in fashion design as well as architecture. In 2014, her #SomeFlowerGirls illustrations rapidly gained a huge following and now her client list is mind boggling. She combines illustration with flowers, vegetables, and other found objects. I've included a few of my favorites below. You can see more HERE

Check out this video that showcases accessories featuring her delightful designs. I think she needs to start designing a fabric line!!!

Just goes to show...

“Love what you do and do what you love. Don't listen to anyone else who tells you not to do it. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination should be the center of your life.”

Ray Bradbury

    1. It hasn't been too snowy in Chicago, but winter isn't over yet!!! But flowers always make me smile. And I just love Meredith's story 😊

    1. In the video you'll see a cosmetic bag and a shopping bag. I ordered both! I am going to send her a message tonight and hopefully plant a seed about doing a fabric line as I think it would be so very special 😊

    1. I actually succumbed to purchasing the makeup and shopping bags. I'll share once they arrive. The shipping from England was only $3.00. I have a feeling they are putting the items in a bottle and throwing them in the sea as they aren't supposed to arrive until about the middle of March 😉

    1. I ordered the cosmetic pouch and the shopping bag. Can't wait to receive them! I also sent her a note and told her that she needs to think about a line of fabrics. Hope I hear back from her!!!

  6. These designs are beautiful. Those turnips are a hoot! I love flowers too and think a fabric line would be great. This reminds me of a decorative mannequin I saw this weekend at Pier I Imports. The mannequin had a dress artfully made of cabbage and it was very well done (the cabbage was not real of course).

    1. I left a message in her website, along with a link to this post, "planting the seed😉" that we would love to see a fabric line. I'll let you know if the seed actually takes root!
Thanks for the info on the mannequin. I popped over to the Pier 1 website and took a look. Would be super easy to make. What a fun idea!

  8. I am miles behind on blog reading but did you ever see Fairie-ality: The Ellwand Collection. It's a very similar idea that came out in the 90's I think. Anyway it's also worth a glance.

    1. Oh my, I think I am going to be adding a book to my library 😊 How lovely. Meredith's drawings are more whimsical. These have more of a high fashion feel. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
