At long last, the sew along begins!!!! My Botticelli Robson coat was made last fall, so this sew along really feels like a long time coming for me. My job today is to decide what fabric I will use for my sew along coat. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, I just may have something that will be lots of fun :) Why sew if it can't be fun, right???
My first post is up on the Sew News blog and you can find it here. There's just a small hitch though. The media department didn't have the video ready yesterday, so it has not been attached. As soon as the video is up, I will let you know. The first post is basically just an overview of the pattern, so there's still time to get your fabric and your pattern. And remember, there's a nice little contest for those who actually finish their Robson coat during the December sew along. You can find that information here.
My blog posts for this coat will be much more detailed than the videos. The pattern instructions are quite good, so I am hoping that between the printed instructions, the videos and my written posts, you'll be able to sail through creating a lovely coat of your own.
In the meantime, I have a current magazine available to give away, YEA!!! No fabric :(, just a magazine. But the magazine is lovely :)
If you would like a chance to win the magazine, just leave a message on this post. I will do the drawing on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
Happy Sewing!
Rhonda
Rhonda, I will throw my name into the pot for the magazine. I've already committed to making this coat; I have fabric, bias, buttons--and I somehow will FIND THE TIME!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, Rhonda! I just made one of your tops using new fabric and sleeves from a no-longer-worn sweater. It turned out great! I would love to win the magazine!
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Karen
Wow, nice feature on that coat Rhonda. I am up to my ears already in sewing and holiday weaving, but heck, throw my name for the magazine as I have never seen an actual copy of one!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a wonderful magazine with lots of interesting articles, and your Robson coat feature is great. I'm a fan of sewing coats and look forward to your sew along. Thanks too for the time you put into sharing your expertise and the recent article you published on drafting sleeves.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, fun! Put me in.
ReplyDeleteI would love to sew the Robson but we are in the thick of winter and won't be out til late April at the earliest. So maybe I can start a trench in March :)
I would love to win this magazine. The Robson coat is truly my kind. I wish I could try it but I think it is too difficult for me. Thank you for all that you do.

Please give it a try now. I'm with you for that matter; have never done a decent looking coat, but I am going for it. Join me, won't you?
Cheers,

ReplyDeleteOoh, I definitely want that magazine, especially since they aren't sold where I live.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that I had olanned to make a trench cost even before you announced the sew-along. So I would love to receive the magazine.
ReplyDeleteHello Rhonda:
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about the Robson sew-a-long; AND, I like reading Sew News, so please include me in the list of lovelies that would like the magazine.
