OOTD

It occurred to me that all of the pieces that I've done for the Sew News collar posts have all been photographed on my dress form. I really do wear these garments, so over the next couple of weeks, I thought I would let you see me actually wearing them. First up is the wide variation of the shawl collar.
I was actually very happy with how the dress turned out.
This is Butterick 5678(just in case you've forgotten!!), lengthened into a dress. You can see the original post here, http://www.sewnews.com/blogs/sewing/2013/06/19/rhonda-buss-wide-shawl-collar-tutorial/
And finally, a picture of me in the dress. I paired the dress with with a pair of very yellow patent leather sandals and a pair of yellow earrings that I've had for longer than I am going to tell you :)
 A view of the back.
It has been a favorite dress this summer. I can throw this dress on and in a matter of minutes, I can look presentable:) A shirt dress is such a wonderful piece to have in your wardrobe, especially once as easy to wear as this one is.

  6. You are right, a shirtdress is such a good way of saying "dressed". The colour of that dress looks wonderful on you - and I love the contrasting piping and buttons. Yellow shoes add to the zing of the whole thing :)

  13. Love the shoes! Great dress, beautifully fitted. I'm always worried that shirt waisters will gap when I sit down.
