Well, compliments of compliments....I think!!!
I had a year end luncheon and board meeting to attend today and it's hot as blazes here in Chicago, so I decided to go all out summer.
I made this dress a number of years ago. It's one of my favorite summer dresses, cool, comfortable and feminine. I feel pretty when I wear it and I love the full circle skirt.
The fabric is incredible, a beautiful embroidered cotton jaquard. I actually found it in an antique shop and I paid next to nothing for it.Hope you've had a great day.
Well, well Miss. Lady. You are quite the beauty. Love, love your dress! So are you doing Jessica Parker? She's got nothing on you! Wink, wink!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Sarah Jessica Parker! That fabric is to die for beautiful! and it fits perfectly! Love, love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great compliment! Well deserved, too! Beautiful dress!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh lady! You do look amazing, I love your hair and the dress fits so beautifully. I would be twirling around like a mad woman in that dress.
ReplyDeleteI did do a little twirling around in my dance class last night ;)
DeleteThat IS the prettiest dress I have seen in forever! I love the fabric -- the style -- the way you look in it -- and, of course, your awesome hair. In my next life, I'm switching hair with you!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Joy
I could probable share some of what I have now with you and never miss it! I'm not complaining, I know how fortunate I am to have this head of hair :)
DeleteYour dress is really special and I am glad you rescued that fabric from the thrift shop! It is unusual and reminds me of fabrics from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is beautiful!! And u so look like here! :) love the full curly hair!!
ReplyDeleteThat IS an incredible dress. What beautiful fabric, and what a fit! You look very summery indeed.
ReplyDeleteIt so so wonderful to see summer in your part of the woods. I really love everything about this, not surprised you got compliments in NM, you really look fantastic. That looks very rich, and high-end. I'm so glad that you admitted that you made it, you should be so proud.
ReplyDeleteThis really is a lovely dress and that fabric isTDF!
ReplyDeleteYou feel pretty in it because you are! It's all beautiful and classy. Reminds me of what a lady looks like. Superb.
ReplyDeleteThe swirly skirt speaks summer. You look great.
ReplyDelete....such a lovely dress...
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous dress. Just says Summers sipping a lovely drink.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in love with the fabric, it looks simply gorgeous. And the dress looks simple, elegant and beautiful at the same time. Sometimes less truly is more. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteYes you do look like SJP! And you also remind me of my sister in law with your hair natural. Cute dress!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and lovely you look! You look like you are ready for a Garden Party.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a compliment to Sarah Jessica Parker!
ReplyDeleteYou could give lessons to SJP! Beautiful, feminine style!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful classic. You are working that dress.
ReplyDeleteBut you're so much more stylish - you choose (make) your own clothes!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think that it would be nice to just go shopping and buy clothes. But it is a fleeting feeling as I quickly realize that it really is a lot easier to make what I need. Much less stressful anyway.
DeleteThe best compliment ever! The bodice looks so perfectly fitted. Can you tell us about any underlining/construction aspects of it? I love that the waist sits a bit lower. Is this your design? Bravo, Rhonda!
ReplyDeleteI'll do a follow up post about the dress for you on construction.
DeleteYou should get compliments because the dress is gorgeous and you look fabulous in it. I think that it is SJP who should be flattered. xx
ReplyDeleteStunning!!! I love this style of dress and the fabric is beautiful.
ReplyDelete(What pattern did you use)
