The new video series that I have been working on is going so well, and so many have sent messages letting me know that you really enjoy them. It's a dream that I have had for some time, so I am very happy that you are enjoying the interviews.
As I shared in my original video, rather than wait until everything was perfect(including me!), I decided to just get started. From the beginning, I knew that I would like to have an opening page/logo for the series. Below is the logo that you see on my Facebook page and on my YouTube page.
I wanted the new logo to tie in with the original, but include the fact that an airplane would be involved. So here's where you can help me. Below are 7 to choose from. Let me know which one you like the best and why. If you like a logo, but feel that something should be changed, or an enhancement made, please let me know that as well.
1.
2.
3.4.
5.
6.
7.
Thanks so much for your help!!!
Rhonda
It is a toss up between 4 and 5 for me. Love the thinner script and the larger needle carrying the thread on 4 but like the emblem type quality of 5 and having an estd date on it. All of this in the final analysis comes down to what you really like though! Happy Sewing from Iowa
ReplyDelete#2 & #7 like the retro black & white graphics & lettering leaning toward #7
ReplyDeleteI like #1. Why? hmm......I like how Material Witness is "sitting" on top of the airplane wings. Plus I've always liked how the needle is part of the "B" in your existing logo. Of course, you can't go wrong with any of them.
ReplyDeleteI like #6...:)
ReplyDelete#3 with no 's
ReplyDeleteRhonda, I like 4, 5, and 6,in that order.
ReplyDeleteI like # 7 best. I like the airplane in grey, and it has a nice retro look.
ReplyDeleteAll are great, really.
Can't wait to sit and listen to the interviews - I've been waiting for some quiet time when I am not rushed and can relax and enjoy.
I like #1 because the straight line of the plane, and the lettering above it that contrasts nicely with the more flowing lines of Sew Bussted. The only change I would make is to not fade out the Sew Bussted lettering.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the circular ones because they make me think of patches to sew onto jackets, or soda pop labels. I have no idea why.
If you want to emphasize the sewing aspect, I think #6 is the best. I know you fly, but is your love of flying the only reason you want it in your logo? If so, I would seriously consider dropping the airplane all together, as it is very confusing when looking at it. Remember the point of a logo is to convey your product visually in one glance. Sorry to be blunt, but you asked for feedback. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI like the colours in #3 and how "material witness" is curved but I also like #5 with the "Est. 2017" added to the logo. Tough decision.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tie between 4 and 6. With 6 the circle makes me think the airplane is flying around.
ReplyDeleteI like all of them except #5. All of the other ones have Sew Bussted as two words while #5 has it as one word (unless that is what you want of course).
ReplyDeleteLove 2, 5, 7; the retro touch does it for me. And 7 perhaps the most, if I had to narrow it down to one.
ReplyDeleteI like #4, they are all cool.
ReplyDeleteI really live #6, because the sewing needle shows an important part of your live. Right? 😊
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the third one, counting from the top! Any one of the logos is beautiful though,...
ReplyDeleteNumber 4 and 1 get my vote. If I were forced to choose just one, then 1
ReplyDelete5 or 7.
ReplyDeleteTough choice!
ReplyDeleteI like the plane in #3 and #7 -- a classic look.
I love the clever needle and thread word motif for #3.
I also like the classic feel of #7.
... In the end, this blog is (to me) mainly a fashion and sewing blog. I'd go with #3.
But hey, it's what you love. I'll love whatever you choose! :-)
I like #4
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw it I liked it. It compliments your original logo beautifully!!
The only thing I would change, (and this is because you asked and it is just minor tweaking) is make the plane a smidgen smaller and add estd 2017. It's a lovely logo. Can't wait to see which one you choose.
Too many choices but I like #1.
ReplyDeleteI vote for #1
ReplyDeleteI like the idea that Material Witness is on the airplane wings - - fly high and far...
I like number one. To me it is the logo you had originally - the script, the needle, and close in color - so everyone would recognize that it's from you and associated with your blog, YouTube, and Facebook. The new addition, Material Witness, is highlighted in red which makes it more obvious than on the other possible logos. I think this is important to see right away. That is the name of the show. The plane is there, not as big as on the other logos, but is included. My thought about the smaller plane is that because I've read your blog for a long time I know that you fly a plane, a lot. Someone new to the videos and blog might not be aware of that right away and think that the video was about flying or planes. Somehow the connection between planes and sewing doesn't connect quickly for me. With the title of the video more highlighted and along with the plane, it seems that you may fly to the interviews.
ReplyDeleteIn # 2, 5, & 7 I didn't even notice the needle right away. On # 3, 4, & 7 the title of the show is too small and doesn't seem like it is important. The title on # 5 & 2 is small also but better. My order of preference would be 1, 6, 3, 4, 5, 7, 2. This is probably more information than you wanted. I love the videos and look forward to seeing more. Whichever one you pick will be good. Now I'll go read the other comments.
I like 4!
ReplyDeleteFrom another airplane lover:
ReplyDeleteI liked #3 and #6 the best.
# 3 had the needle and airplane the same color which tied them together.
I did not like the 's (as another commenter said). Better as SewBusted.
I liked #6 because of the oval thread through the needle pulling it all together.
Combining two items looks best with a circle or an oval.
I did like the Est(d) 2017 date addition, but ESTD was weird for me. Is it better with EST. 2017?
And I agreed with Carolyn that your new addition of the show name in red highlights this new venture. Your plane is part of your back history and should be smaller.
Trying to be conclusive:
Needle pulling thread around everything ties things together. Trying to advertise your show is important and should be more vivid. The plane should be smaller. And lose the apostrophe. Bright color on show name. 2nd color on Needle.
#5 is my favorite (I'm a sucker for the colors and retro feel) - but - I feel like the needle is small enough to be overlooked. That being said, #4 and #6 keep the needle as a focal point. Can't wait to see what you pick!
ReplyDeleteI find the two-word logo with Sew Bussted easier to read! I like all of the designs that break the word up, especially 3.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are cool! After much deliberation I think I like 5 & 6 best for the retro feel.
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous. No's 2 & 7 are my favourites. I love the colours and the retro feel to them both. Xx
ReplyDelete4 no question! easy to read, ties into your other logo, crisp look to the plane. Don't care for the added s on the other logos. Two words that do not merge into one is also easier.
ReplyDeleteIF numbered from the top, and I think they are. 1st Choice #4, second choice #6. I like the needle and thread and airplane in number 4, but I like the oval in number 6, so it probably depends on exactly how you will use the logo. 6 probably looks better on a business card, stationary and envelopes, the other is somewhat whimsical and I really like it the most.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one best.
ReplyDelete2 please.
ReplyDeleteI like #5 it is graceful and shows who you are.
ReplyDeleteMarie
4. Fun and colorful like you are
ReplyDelete#6!
ReplyDeleteI like #4 the best. It seems happy and still nods to your original logo. I like how the needle is larger to emphasize sewing
ReplyDeleteI like no 6 best. I find 1,3 and 4 a bit too busy. No 7 is pretty cute too.
ReplyDeleteWe all like different ones, so not much help really :)
ReplyDeleteI like 6 the best
I like #1. It's sleek and clean. I like the plane depiction being subtle & allowing the focus to be on the sewing.
ReplyDeleteI prefer 1, it is just more to the point.
ReplyDeleteI like #1.
