The PJs in Paris Give Away

Last week I posted this pattern,
an Excella pattern. To be honest, I have never heard of this pattern company. The little bit of information that I have been able to find about the company is that the patterns were produced in the 1920s and 30s. If you would like to see other patterns produced by this company click here.

My finished PJs. The pant pattern is an excellent pattern and one that I am going to make up in something that I will be able to wear out of the house. The pants have a wonderful cut, wide legs and a very low crotch that allows the pants to flow as you walk, truly lovely.
So for the big, big news!!! There were five people who commented on the post and all five of you are going to get a copy of the pattern!!! OMG!!! I have an address for Patti and Brenda. Irene, Ruthie and The Material Lady, if you are all still interested, shoot me an email with your address and I will get a copy out to you the first of next week. I just love this. It's just the best to be able to really do something unexpected.
Yesterday I told you about an article that I read in the Vogue Pattern magazine about cork being used as fabric. I was really intrigued. While I was reading the article, I thought of a piece of fabric that a friend gave me for Christmas. I believe she bought it while on a trip to Africa.

It's really lovely. Not only is it dyed, but there is a jacquard weave in the fabric.
The tag says Kola and Indigo dyes. I know very little about dyes, but I found this website that specializes in this type of dyed fabric.
I have to soak the fabric in a vinegar and water bath before I wash it, but once that's done, I plan to cut this shirt out of the fabric.
As I said, I am so intrigued with the cork fabric. I think I might just go ahead and get a piece and maybe combine it with the scraps I have left over for a nice summer tote. We'll see.

Remember ladies, if you're still interested in the Excella pajama pattern, send me your address!
