I'm Baaack!!!

Good Morning Everyone!! It's so nice to be back. My little computer picture downloading problem threw me for a bit of a loop. Thanks to everyone who jumped in to help me. I greatly appreciate it. Rather than the pictures coming directly from my computer, they are now coming from a Picassa album. I liked the other way so much better, but hey it works and what more can I really ask for. I'm still hoping for a computer miracle...one morning I'll start up the blog and everything will be back to how it was before...we can always hope!!!!
Since this is all new to me, I'm just doing a crazy little post this morning. First of all, I want to share all of the wonderful things that have happened recently. For all of you who come by on a regular basis, you know that the year ended in a rather exciting way. First came the photo of my French inspired jacket that is featured in this month's Reader's Closet section of Thread's magazine.
So exciting and such an honor! If you would like to see that post, click here.
Then came an incredible honor when Andrea of  http://satinbirddesigns.blogspot.com/2012/12/inspiration.html and Cennetta of http://themahoganystylist.blogspot.com/2012/12/lovely-blogger-award.html both nominated me for the same awards, The Lovely Blog Award and The Very Inspiring Blog Award. This came within minutes of each other. Incredible. If you would like to read what I wrote about myself, click here. That was a lot of fun!
2012 ended on such a high note and it's continuing into 2013!
You may remember this top. It was the first Fabulous Free Pattern Friday post.
You can find the instructions for the top here. Cennetta featured her version of the top on her blog this week,  http://themahoganystylist.blogspot.com/2013/01/rhondas-anyway-you-want-top.html and she wants it to be the group pattern for the upcoming Haute Couture Club of Chicago's fashion show. WOW!! Thank you Cennetta.
I shared this crazy little skirt that I made from a former exchange student's sweat shirt. You can see the post here. To my surprise, it has been reposted all over the place. When I say surprised, I mean surprised!! This morning I found out that Stacy of http://stacysews.com/ featured the skirt on her weekly post, http://stacysews.com/entry/2013/0110_linky-thursday-91/. Such a nice honor. Thank you Stacy!!
The year is truly off to a big bang!!
Now for just a little fun,
Miss Little Bit all decked out in her winter coat and boots.
She HATES her boots. At one time, she could go out in the snow and do just fine, but her advancing years have rendered her a little less tolerating of the cold conditions.
I made her coat just before Christmas. You would have thought that I was yanking her toenails out with pliers! Incredible. What I thought would be a half hour project turned into almost two hours. Her little body is not exactly like the pattern, so it took a lot of back and forth in order to fit her. There was no way she would come to my studio and make the process a little easier. You should have heard the screams. At least she likes the coat, now that it's finished. I would like to make a few more for her. At least I can use the existing coat as my template and not have to go through the hysterics of the original version.
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
Rhonda

    1. The most wonderful honor is to learn that I'm looked for on a daily basis. Wow! So nice. Emily, I checked the blog on my computer and I was able to pull up all the old Fabulous Free Pattern posts. You can also go to my Pinterest page. I have a board for FFPF as well as Sleeves on Saturdays. Let me know if you continue to have an issue and I'll see what I can do on my part.

  6. Welcome back. I'm so glad you were able to find a solution to getting your pictures up. I enjoy reading your blog and look forward to your Fabulous Free Pattern Fridays and Sleeves on Saturday. My list has been building of all the different patterns I want to try and I started with your One Seam Rectangle Skirt. Thank you so much for sharing. I received a number of compliments when I wore it to work on Monday.

  7. P.S. Little Miss Bit looks adorable in her new coat and I love the booties. If it helps to know, my dog won't wear shoes either. I tried them on him one and he flipped out.

    1. Hey Andrea, Just wanted to let you know that persistance has paid off. Miss Little Bit still hates her boots, but we no longer have the screams or even worse, the biting that she thought would help her get her way. Once she is outside, she seems to completely forget that they are there. When she comes in, she wants them off immediately. My husband took them for a walk. When they came back in, I was in the shower. She actually came to the shower to get me to take off the boots. As frustrating as our dogs can be, they are still so much fun!

  8. You really shouldn't be surprised that everyone loves that skirt. When I first saw it, I was like...why hasn't this been posted all over pintrest! Then I looked at the date and saw that it was a very recent post. So that was why :-) I haven't posted it on pintrest yet...I want to make one first! I scoured goodwill for large sweaters the other day with plans to make a few of these.
