Wearing The Faux Fur Collar

After I published last week's tutorial for the faux fur collar, a number of you asked to see me in the collar as well as the coat. Since I wore the coat today, it made taking pictures easy. The collar, by the way, is wonderful to wear. It kept my neck nice and warm, so I'm very happy:)
The coat has a swing back, so a rather vintage look. It works with so many outfits. Since it's short, it's not the best coat when I need to do a lot of walking around in the cold, but when I'm going from the house to the car and the car to whatever my destination is, it's a great little coat.
A better picture of the swing back.
I made everything I'm wearing except for my gloves, shoes and hose. You can find the collar tutorial HERE. The dress I'm wearing is from THIS Fabulous Free Pattern Friday post.
Hope you've had a wonderful start to your week.
Not that I'm complaining, as I know that all of you out east have had a much worse winter than we have in Chicago, but this does give you an idea of how much snow we have.

  1. You look AWESOME, as usual! NOW, I want to see the dress that is under the coat. It looks like a fun pattern to try.

We have 2 more days of super cold and then warmth this weekend. Well, that is if you call 40 degrees warmth ;) Trust me, I'll take it!

  3. I've been thinking about you a lot recently - sending positive thoughts your way.

The jacket is beautiful - the whole outfit is actually. And what a perfect winter backdrop to the coat.

  4. Beautiful outfit. You look amazing in it. I love your jacket. It is so elegant. Found some fur in the stash and going to give this collar a go. Snow looks pretty deep to me. We have had about 2cm and it only stayed a day. Weather is being weird. Xxxx

    1. Thanks Kim. No, I was just from the car to the house basically, so the jacket was perfect.

  6. We are predicted for forty above tomorrow as well. I'll believe it when I see it but it's dropping way back down the next day, :(

Love this outfit. What a great jacket and all the details of the ensemble. You are rockin' this look, Rhonda!

  7. Love that photo! the coat, the background--collar is perfect! As for the weather. We've had on/off ice and snow last week and this week and I'm already tired of it! We left 70's for ice. Two weeks of this in Texas is just.not.normal! lol Bring back spring!!!! (I know--I'm such as woos - or however it's spelled!)

You have had a horrible situation in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. What makes it even worse is that you don't have the equipment to deal with it. I remember when I lived in Houston and it would snow. You basically just did your best to get home and then stay there.

I think we are all going to be wearing shorts when we have our first 40 degree day. We'll feel like we're in the Bahamas ;) Well, maybe not quite the same, but I think 40 is going to feel heavenly.

  10. Sensational outfit Rhonda. Question. I'm looking for some velvet texture leopard print fabric like your skirt. Do you know a source that would ship internationally?
