From Near and Far

I'm going to showcase 3 pillowcase donations today.
The first little Lone Ranger is from Karen. When she emailed me, she had said that she had made 6 pillowcases for the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital pillowcase drive. When they arrived, there were 5. No problem, 5 is a lovely gift. Then a little package arrived and inside was one lone little pillowcase. Karen said, "I found the stray!" And it is a lovely little stray :) Thanks so much Karen!
Next up is a kaleidoscope of colors all the way from British Columbia, Canada. Carole did such a lovely job of pairing prints and colors.
 There are animals and flowers,
and bold prints which will surely make a child smile. Thank you Carole!!
Last but not least is a gift of 10 from not so far away, a suburb of Chicago, Aurora, IL. Julia told me that she teaches Family and Consumer Science at a local high school. She said that a couple of the cases were made to show her students and the others were made from remnants of personal projects. Isn't it amazing what we can do with just bits of fabric?
I think that because it has turned a little cold, I gravitate to the flannels. So cozy!
Sadly, this one did not photograph very well and it's a pity as it is so very pretty in person. I'm tempted to grab it and go take a nap.
Thank you all for your generosity as well as your creativity.
So, the big number reveal......18 more pillowcases brings us to a current grand total of 943. We're getting closer and closer to that 1000 mark! So many months ago it was difficult to imagine even reaching 100, much less 1000. Thank you everyone for all you've done to make this happen. There truly is strength in numbers!
