Grab It!

Good Morning Everyone!
Yes, it is Wednesday and there will be a Wednesday Showcase, but it will come a little later today.
I want to share with you this great little sewing tool that was given to me while I was at the sewing expo in Puyallup. It was in the package of goodies that I was sent home with after the competition. For me, this is sensational. I have never been able to wear a pin cushion on my wrist because they either fall off or just twirl around and drive me completely out of my mind. Hmm, that may explain a few things about me:) Anyway...check this out.
This is one of those things that you say, "now why didn't I think of this?" Oh well, it's wonderful and I'm so happy to have it. The concept is quite simple, it's a little box with a nice strong magnet that has a band that runs through it
and buckles. The band reminds me a little of a dog collar.
I used this all day yesterday, and the magnet box stayed in place and the pins never fell to the floor.  Because of the adjustability, it will fit any size wrist, even a chicken wrist like mine. That is, if chickens had wrists!!
And one last thing, it's made in America!! For those of us in America, that's a big thing.
The best price I found for the Wrist Grabbit was on Amazon, just click here.
Here is a link to the company which is based in Oregon,  http://www.grabbitsewingtools.com/
Feather King, yes, that's her name, is the inventor behind all of the products that this company produces and even better, she is a seamstress just like the rest of us.
The name feather brings to mind the story about how once something is said, that like a feather, you can never take it back. In this case, the words that flew all over the world I would never want to take back. I am still smiling and so very grateful for all of your help to make the Sew It All Competition a win for me. Trying to retrace all of the people who stepped up and helped to get the word out is just as impossible as trying to recapture feathers. So my simple thanks is all I can offer, but please know it comes from my heart.

  4. I've been using an older version of this for years - closes with velcro. I love it! It really helps when doing fittings with clients, except when the pins get caught in the netting of the petticoat while I'm reaching in to pin the lining up out of the way. (Can you tell I'm deep into prom season?)

    1. Sounds all too familiar. Although I never really did prom dresses, but weddings always pick up this time of year:)

  5. Hey, I bought one of these in my last Wawak.com order and they accidentally sent me two! I wasn't sure other folks would like it as much as I did. Looks like I should do a giveaway for the second one!

  6. This is great for working on clients and your dress form but would it be wise to keep it away from a computerized machine since it can zap out a watch? I think most of us know this but for those who don't...
    Thanks for the review, Rhonda.

  7. Hi Bunny,
I wonder if the watch would be affected because it too is on your arm. I think this is something to think about though, so I will contact the company and get their feedback and then I'll post their response so everyone will have the info. Thanks Bunny!
