Magazine Winners and a Free Pattern!!!

Rather than our usual Monday Morning Inspiration post, I have something fantastic to share. Be sure to scroll on down, because I think that many of you won't want to miss this opportunity :)

Last week I posted my Ginger Jeans. I won't tell you how many times I wore them before they finally made it into the washing machine. Shame on me! On the positive side, I REALLY love wearing the jeans, so a great example of what a wonderful pattern it is.

Our first order of business is to announce the winners of the October/November issues of Sew News.

And the winners are...

Subshaw
Sewalatte
Christine C

Congratulations!!!!
Be sure to email me at sewbussted@yahoo.com with your mailing info so I can get the magazines out to you.

AND NOW.....THE BIG NEWS!!!!!!!

I have a Ginger Jeans pattern to give away!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't own the pattern, but think you might like to give the jeans a try, be sure to leave a message on this post.

The winner will be announced next Monday, October 17, 2016. So you have until midnight on October 16th to enter the drawing.

A BIG THANK YOU to Heather Lou, the designer and master mind behind Closet Case Files Patterns for giving me the opportunity to give away a pattern. Such a wonderful way to kick off a sew along.

Good Luck!!!

  28. I would love to make some Gingers. I've not made jeans since high school and the Vogue Calvin Klein pattern. Those were high cut using Lycra denim from the Lee factory outlet and in a "teeny weeny now completely unrealistic size". And yes, I still have them.

  38. One of my New Year's resolutions this past year was to challenge myself; instead of saying, "I don't think I could do that" to say "I can do anything if I put my heart and soul into it." So when recovering from surgery this year, I taught myself how to frame weave and how to hook rugs with yarn (and I've already designed eight mug rugs; I just had this feeling that I was going to love doing it). I've also been designing my own sewing kits just for fun AND I did make a few knit skirts for my adult daughter (Rhonda, you actually inspired me not to be afraid of knits, so I did two long skirts and one short one; it was probably the trickiest sewing I've done as one of them was pieced stripes!). NOW, I've never made a pair of jeans, but my Gramma (who has been on the Other Side these many years) always said I could sew anything if I just followed the pattern (and sometimes asked questions). I'd love to sew a custom pair of jeans (even my NYDJs don't fit as well as I'd like). Just thinking of jeans being comfortable would actually spur me on to the challenge. Fingers crossed! And good luck to all.
