I'm Celebrating!

I've decided that a true celebration is in order :)
The next Sew News sew along will be for the Robson Trench Coat from Sewaholic Patterns. Great pattern by the way! The sew along will begin on December 1st, so just a few weeks away.

You may remember that I posted pictures of me in the coat for a recent Me Made Monday post.
Front view.

Back view.
In honor of my recent good news, I've decided to give away 4 1/2 yards of the Botticelli fabric that I used for my coat, plenty to make your own Robson Coat!!!
If you decide to make something else out of the fabric, that's fine, I just ask that winner use the fabric. Please don't allow it to languish in your stash and please don't sell it.
The rules for the give away are simple;
1. You must be a follower of this blog, either the "Follow This Blog" box on the right hand side, or Bloglovin. Please let me know how you follow the blog.
2. Leave a message on this post if you would like to be included in the give away.
That's it! I will draw a name and announce the winner next Friday, November 21, 2014. I will send the fabric anywhere, so all may enter.
I wish that I could do something for each and every one of you, but that of course is impossible. I am so very grateful for the out pouring of generosity and concern that so many have expressed over this past week and I am even more grateful that I will be able to continue visiting with you through the blog. So be sure and leave a message if you would like a chance to win, and again,
THANK YOU!!!!!!

  4. My first message is more important than your beautiful fabric - My sister has had a mole in her eye for years. At first she worried because they told her it could be precancerous. I think that was 30 years ago. Enjoy life and good vision.

Now, I would love to win your beautiful fabric although I might make a trech coat pattern I already own. I follow and enjoy your blog through Bloglovin.

  5. Hi there Rhonda,
Dropping in from the other side of the pond!! For someone who keeps putting off buying a trench coat/raincoat because I want to find something unique and different...............I would absolutely adore to win this fabulous fabric and make a statement, over here in the rain!!
Of course, I would have to follow your lead and get the pattern too. I have never made a raincoat before, so that would also be a first for me.

I believe I follow through blogger, but I get e mail notifications which bring me to the blog, I am also listed as one of your followers on the google section of members.......................oh dear, I am, yet again proving that I am an ageing, fading blonde!! LOL.

Sincerely hoping that things are turning around for you Rhonda. You aren't alone and we sewingsista's are all wrapping our arms around you. Hang on in there darling, it can only get better.

  6. Well, of course I'd like to win that fabric--who wouldn't??? I'd probably make a coat with a hood, only because I love hoods and my next coat project must have one.

  42. Good day, Ms. Rhonda:

The Robson coat has penetrated my heart for a couple of months now. I was finally able t secure the pattern and was all set to cut but found out about the sew-a-long. For some reason I thought YOU were leading it and I got all excited and decided to wait to play along. Now I see it is "Sew News" or some such. I'll have to read up on all that.

Truly Tasia is talented and I am loving her indie pattern company (can you say "Minoru" jacket?). The trench style coat has always been one of my faves and to think I am able to make one of my own, why I'm simply blown away.

Yes, please include me in your give-a-way. One can NOT have too many Sewaholic creations. Truly I will be having more than one. A Lyrically styled one with this fabric would brighten my heart to be sure. I choose to follow you via Bloglovin' (love that interface).

Thank you for kindly offering to share this fabric and please, take care of YOU, honey. You are irreplaceable.

    Cheers,

    Lyric

    2. Thank you for responding so quickly as I'd really like to make a Robson correctly. Of course, I will be adding an underlining on mine . . YAY.

      Take care.

  43. A short version of The Portlandia (Saf-T-Pockets patterns) raincoat would look fabulous in that fabric! With all the rain we get out in the Pacific Northwest, a new rain coat would be just the ticket. I was reading Sew News earlier today and had just come across the Sew Along article featuring the jacket...so I logged on to check your site for more information about the Sew Along. :)
I've following you using Google Friends (or whatever that google connect thing was called).

  44. Congratulations on the magazine article. I would love a new coat and I have 2 weeks off at year's end to make fine prgress. I subscribe through blogger dashboard. thanks for your generous offer.

  45. I have been wanting to make a trench or parka but felt a little intimidated to tackle it alone. I have the fabric sitting at the end of my cutting table waiting. With you leading a sew-a-long I feel more confident that it will be "smooth-sewing" and that I will get it done! I enjoy following you on Bloglovin.

  46. Rhonda your coat and fabric are lovely. Thanks for the time and effort you put into sew alongs and tutorials on your blog, its a wealth of information... I've been following for several years on blogger then bloglovin and Facebook too :) plus i love sewing coats so please count me in as well.

  47. Hi Rhonda:

I attempted to submit my name for the fabric contest but I am uncertain if my comment was transmitted.

In the event it was not transmitted I will try again.

I was happy to learn you recent passed the most important test of your life - all well that ends well as my granny used to say. I am certain you won't be taking life for granted nor your eye sight in the future.

I would like to submit my name for consideration for your current give-away of the amazing Botticelli fabric. I doubt I would make a trench coat due to the fact it would not fit my lifestyle, however, I am certain I could find an alternate pattern in which to utilize the stunning fabric.

BTW - I receive your blog via both options - directly to my email through the Follow This Blog option, as well as, through my Bloglovin feed. Its a toss up on any given day which option I read your blog on based on which hits my email first or which option I click on first - regardless I love your comments, ideas and sewing inspiration.

Keep up the great work and continue to enjoy life to the fullest.

That's all for now, Nancy at buckscottageservices@yahoo.ca
