Monday Morning Inspiration

Happy Monday Everyone!
I came across a line that I had never heard of, Lolitta from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I love everything about this collection. Yes, it's very body conscious, but the colors, the mix of prints, the interesting use of trims, the movement, it's just so lovely. Notice the very modern use of rick rack. Wow!!! So scroll through and enjoy the pictures. If you would like, you can see more here and here.

Have a wonderful week!
Rhonda

  1. Wow! What a find! I love almost all of these dresses - the fabrics, the trims, the colors, the shapes. Just gorgeous. Studio Faro did a tutorial recently for the "Morticia Skirt" which is similar in shape to the longer dresses here: http://studiofaro-wellsuited.blogspot.com/2014/08/pattern-puzzle-morticia-skirt.html

  5. Thanks for introducing me to this designer. I have a whole new appreciation for rick rack. My favorites are those that remind me of spirograph designs. Yes they are colorful and very festive.

  7. I plan to recreate the skirt in the first photo in a solid color. An ankle length skirt with movement from the two ruffles could actually be a practical garment in my wardrobe. I recently began a subscription to Manequim which is a Brazilian sewing magazine similar to Burda (German). Manequim is particularly strong in evening wear designs that belong on a red carpet. Unfortunately the magazine is published in portuguese and the guide sheet looks difficult to trace because there are so many lines per square inch. I'll let you know how it goes.

    1. You have sold me on the magazine, if for nothing more than inspiration. Thanks so much Ann. I'm planning to do the Rick rack and tape skirt. Let me know when you get your made and I will be sure to do links to your post. So very happy you are back :)
