Jungle January Is Back!

I was so happy to hear that http://prttynpnk.wordpress.com/ would be hosting Jungle January again this year. I was only able to get one piece in last year and that was by the skin of my teach! Maybe this year I can do a little better. Maybe!
If you are one of the few who have not heard about Jungle January, let me tell you, it is SO much fun. The rules are simple, you can make anything you like, just make it in an animal print. and she doesn't care what animal you choose! If it's an animal, it's in!!
This top was made for Sleeves on Saturdays. It is the Bat-Wing Sleeve and you can find the instructions here,http://rhondabuss.blogspot.com/2013/11/sleeves-on-saturdays_23.html
It's a bat-wing style, but the sleeves look like the heads of two giraffes!!! Do I get extra Jungle January points for a two headed giraffe with bat wings?!!!!
I had not posted a picture of me wearing the top, so here it is! I actually found a piece of silk chiffon that matched so why not make a scarf? Every giraffe can use a little extra accent around the neck :)
My wings are a little shallow so they don't drape as much as they could. The fullness under the arm does make this a very comfortable piece to wear and the top retains its fit throughout the bodice. Easy to draft and easy to wear, a great combination.
Be sure to get over to   http://prttynpnk.wordpress.com and check out all the GRRReat pieces that are coming in!!! You can find the Flickr page here,  http://www.flickr.com/groups/2131590@N20/
It's a great day in the jungle!

  1. Love the giraffe print and the scarf. Such fun. I feel a little ancient for animal prints, but maybe I could find a not-so-wild one. The thing is, I love those BRIGHT PINK pants someone made. Maybe I could get away with a scarf out of that yummy print.

  5. I definitely agree: EXTRA POINTS. How lucky to find matching scarf fabric. I love how this looks and I love giraffes. DH has said for years, he's glad elephants and giraffes don't run loose, Otherwise, we'd have at least 2 of each in our pasture (after I herded them in!).
