Monday Morning Inspiration/Zip It!

Don't you just love it when a little something unexpected just seems to fall in your lap? I had intended to post something completely different for this morning's inspiration post. All of the pictures were saved on my Pinterest page, so I opened Pinterest and what popped up were these amazing pictures from the Chanel Fall/Winter 2018/19 haute couture collection. This collection has given me a new found love of tweed! It's not so much the fabric, but what Karl Lagerfeld did with it. The focus of the collection is on zippers. He slashed the sleeves and ran zippers down the center. Zippers were added to the side seams of skirts. Call me crazy, but it just seems so fresh and fun!

I have quite a collection of vintage opera length gloves that I love to wear, but they usually end up scrunched up under my sleeves. I absolutely love the idea of a zipper that will open and showcase the lining as well as a fabulous glove. So scroll through the pictures, and then be sure and take a few minutes to watch the fashion show. This is, in my opinion, one of the loveliest collections that Karl Lagerfeld has done is quite some time.

You can check out more of the collection on the Chanel website HERE.

Hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did!
Have a fabulously inspired week!
Rhonda

  1. Oh, I love these! Please, Rhonda, make a jacket with sleeves divided with zippers and show us the jacket with some of your opera-length gloves.

    1. I still owe everyone another tour of my closet. I organized my drawers and now all of my gloves are beautifully lined up and easy to find. I'll get the closet post done first, but I REALLY want a jacket like this.

  2. Beautiful, love the detailing. Those lilac gloves are gorgeous. My mom always wore gloves, pearls, hats and pumps. Used to love watching her get dressed for church, funerals, weddings, parties, etc. So fascinating.

  5. Love the linings of the sleeves. Having the right glove would make the whole outfit. Thanks so much for sharing. These are prettier than for the last several years.
