The first week of October, a new week, and a new month. A time to look back, and a time to look forward :)
For last week's Monday Morning Inspiration post, the movie The Dressmaker inspired me to take a look at what sewing has meant, and continues to mean to so many of us. The threads of sewing go so much deeper than just through a piece of cloth. This past week, so many of you reached out to me. Our relationship began because of a shared love, but grows deeper with every stitch of life. Thank you. I have not responded to every message, but please know that each and every one has been read and cherished.
This week, I thought I would take one last look at the costumes from The Dressmaker. A few of you who live in Australia shared that there has actually been a exhibition of the costumes. I can only hope that they will come to America. So for those of us who have not been lucky enough to view the clothes in person, I thought we would take a look. Be sure to take a few minutes and watch the video at the end. It's just a little over 3 minutes long, and well worth the time.
Look closely at the dress below. It's a true golfing dress! Check out the loops that hold the tees.
Below is the coat....
That was worn over the dress below.
I want to leave you today with this;
Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you have now was once among the things you only hoped for.
Wishing you all the loveliest October.
