Monday Morning Inspiration

Happy Monday Everyone and if you are in America, Happy Labor Day, the last official day of summer. I'm already looking forward to fires in the fireplace and hot cups of Chai tea :)
I recently came across a new to me design duo, Tata Naka. The name is a play on the names of Georgian born identical twins, Tamara and Natasha Surgaladze. They arrived in London in 1996 to study fashion design at Central St. Martin's and in 2000, Barney's NY dedicated a wall to their awe inspiring graduation collection. The Tata-Naka statement pieces regularly starred in the legendary series "Sex In The City," and were worn by Carrie Bradshaw on the cover of the official book.
Their pieces are vibrant, part pop art and lots of fun.

They enjoy color blocking and bright, bold colors.

The following pieces are from their Fall/Winter collection. I love the photography. If you go to their Facebook page you can see behind the scenes of the photo shoot.
I especially like their use of color with this collection, as well as the embroidery. I know that many of you will say, "oh my goodness, too much pattern!" Try to see the collection as inspiration rather than a head to toe look.

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

    1. Although the line is intended for fall/winter, it works well for spring as well. Enjoy your lovely weather!

  4. It's simple, but I love the double hem on the pencil skirt.
