Monday Morning Inspiration/Chanel Fall-Winter 2014

Over the weekend, this video was posted on Facebook. It's amazing, so I had to share it with you. Below the video, I've attached pictures of the pieces that are featured.

This video show the pieces on the body with incredible detail. I think you'll enjoy it, I know I did!

Below are a few of the pieces that were featured in the second video, but not the first.

Whether you like the collection or not, I think that for those of us who sew it's just an incredible treat to see the pieces as they are being created and then again to be able to see the detail once they are on the body. I've also attached the full length fashion show if you would like to take a look. Get ready ladies, I think we are going to see shorts under skirts in the near future whether we like it or not!
Have a wonderful week!
Rhonda

  1. Wow, thank you for this, Rhonda! Such a labour of love. And this wus is shying away at the thought of tailoring a jacket. Shame on me!
Also, don't want to start a debate here, but looking at this video, I understand why haute couture looks for skinny models: Working on these pieces d'art in a plus size would probably next to double the necessary time and effort to create them. Of course, this doesn't apply to pret-a-porter.

  2. Amazing!!! But I'm still stuck on the 2015 cruise collection...my brain is still absorbing that wonderment - I have to make room!

  3. Several gorgeous creations there, but I don't expect I'll ever wear shorts + skirt or pants + skirt. I think it looks bulky!

    1. This isn't my favorite collection. Like you said, there are several beautiful pieces. What I really enjoyed was watching the work that went into creating the collection. That I find fascinating. But I have a feeling that we are going to see the short and skirt thing in ready to wear...whether we like it or not ;)

  4. Stunning workmanship, of course! It makes me want to handle the fabrics, to feel if they're hard or soft, to see the texture close up. Beautiful goods!

    1. In the first video, it looks like the fabric just floats. I would also like to feel it. I have a feeling that they all have a liquid gold aspect to them.

  5. I'm a huge fan of Chanel but this collection doesn't grab me. I want to whisper less is more in the designer's ear.

    1. I felt like you Gail. What I was in awe of is how the pieces were put together. There bits and pieces of inspiration that I take with me, but over all, :(
