Monday Morning Inspiration

Happy Monday Everyone!!!
Last week, my sister-in-law sent me a link that she thought I would enjoy. She was right! Actually, I was a little blown away. This young lady painted her prom gown. So incredible. The story has gone a little viral, so you may have seen the story, but in the off chance that you haven't, I thought I would share it. Here's a link to her story, http://ktar.com/22/1735819/Mesa-high-school-senior-hand-paints-prom-dress
The gown is actually a wedding gown that she and her mother found in a resale shop. Talk about repurposing!

Such a beautiful gown. I think it needs to find a home in a museum.
So I decided to look around a bit for some other hand painted beauties.

When I found these dresses, I thought they were enchanting. The artist is really quite talented. You can see more of her work here in her Etsy shop,  https://www.etsy.com/shop/ArmeniaOnSilk?ref=listing-shop-header-item-count She also does scarves and women's clothing

If only time was not an issue!!!! At least it's fun to look :)

  1. They are all beautiful! The Van Gogh dress gives me chills every time I see it! I think it should go on tour---somewhere close to me! I'd love to see it in person. Love the others you found, too. As you say----time, etc.

  6. I am blown away by the girls who painted the prom dresses talent. This is fabulous. The photo of the painted circle skirt was also pretty cool. I think that it must take a lot of skill to paint things which are so intricate onto fabric. I predict that we will be seeing a lot of copies on the net in the near future. I know that I am really inspired by their creativity. xx

    1. I didn't mention this in the post, but notice how tasteful the dress is. And I'm sure that the other girls wore dresses that were anything but tasteful. I remember one of my exchange students bring home a catalog of prom dresses that shocked me to no end. Let's just say that you would be hard pressed to call them dresses.

  8. The homage to Vincent Van Gogh's gown is spectacular, but I cant help feeling that it is wearing her. My personal favourite is the simple spots with illustrated bodice.
