Monday Morning Inspiration

Happy Monday Everyone!!! Looks like we're off to a rainy week here in Chicago. I like rainy days. They feel so cozy :)
My new issue of Vogue magazine arrived on Saturday, so I took some time and just enjoyed it yesterday afternoon. What jumped out at me was the mix of patterns that seemed to be rather prevalent in the issue. Maybe I was a little more attune to it since I had just read a post by http://smokingneedlesknitting.blogspot.com/2013/10/mixed-messages.html where she had talked about an outfit that she had put together and her husband just didn't get it. I thought it was fabulous. Men!!! Mine has done the same thing to me on occasion.I love mixing patterns and I think it makes for a really interesting outfit. So in that spirit, I'll share a few of the things I pulled out of the recent Vogue magazine.
Pattern Play
The cowgirl in me loves this outfit...of course!, but I like the styling for the picture with the baby dressed in stripes.

The lace paired with a bomber jacket that has a mix of colors and pattern. Really nice.
 Mixed skin prints.
I absolutely loved this and I would like to get some sweatshirt fleece and see if I can figure out how to dye it like this top. The sweater with a feather skirt, fun!!
I don't know why, but I love these Fendi bags. I think that are just so much fun.
Mary Katrantzou always does over the top prints that work beautifully together.

A new wrap dress from the current Diane Von Furstenburg collection.
L'Wren Scott will be doing a line for Banana Republic. I bet it won't include what she is wearing here!!!
 Abstract and polka dots.
What a fun dress. Love the little pencil skirt underneath the full skirt.

I pulled this out for the print of the jacket. Wow, I wish I could get my hands on some of this fabric.
Another great mix of color and print.
I included this dress because I thought that the zipper detail in the princess line seam is really interesting. A great idea to log away for future use.
And finally, I pulled this out because I love the cut of this pant. The pleat is offset to the side. Not for everyone, but interesting nonetheless.
Fashion should be about having fun. Life is just too short to be boring!!!
Have a wonderful week and do something a little shocking this week!!!!!
Rhonda

  3. Those were fun to look at. I especially liked the red/black combination the best. My mom told me you can't match stripes with prints. I'm glad it's allowed now!

    1. Yes, me too. I'm just so happy that we are much more experimental with our clothes. Makes it a lot more fun! I like that red and black combo too.Actually, I was wrong. The blouse and skirt she is wearing is from the L'Wren Scott collection for Banana Republic. The blouse is $90 and the skirt is $98.

    2. I think I could do the abstract with the polka dot skirt. Very cute. The others are a bit much for a 63-year old. I like the lace and bomber jacket too.
      Hugs, Joy
