The Wednesday Showcase

Whew! What a week!! Busy, busy, but good busy:) Some great things coming down the pike that I'll share with you in the coming weeks. A HUGE thank you for all who have voted for me. I really can't thank you enough. I feel a little like David up against Goliath, but with all of your help and votes of confidence, my little stone just may hit dead center. Fingers are crossed and I'm hoping, hoping!!! The voting continues through April 1st so there is still plenty of time to vote. So let's move on to the agenda for the day and of course that's the wonderful Wednesday Showcase. As always, I have two fabulous ladies to introduce you to. I know you are going to enjoy getting to know them if you haven't already.
First up is Gail of http://gksagenda.blogspot.com/. I really related to her description as when I started my blog, I too had no clear idea of what the content should be. Funny how things just work out!
"I started this blog with no clear idea of what the content would be, but rather as a place to compile my thoughts. Turns out, what I mostly think about is knitting, sewing and nail polish. I'm Yellowbird on Ravelry." You can read more about Gail on her about page here.
Gail decided to make a shirt for her husband. She began with a pattern of course and also by measuring a well fitting shirt that her husband had. Below is her muslin. As I read the post, she had me laughing as she said that her husband was so disappointed that he could not wear the muslin. She told him, "you can if you want to look like a fool." Too funny!!! But isn't it wonderful when the person we love, loves what we do for them?
Check out this lovely clutch.
And the awesome lining! Love it, love it.
Check out this great coat that Gail made. But wait until you see the finishing.
Beautiful buttonholes,
and an incredibly finished facing and hem. She said she was proud and she should be.
I am really looking forward to getting to know Gail and I think you'll enjoy her and her blog as well.

Next up is an incredible woman whom I'm sure most of you know, but in the off chance that you don't....it's time you do! She is Sharon of http://sharonsews.blogspot.com/ She has a wonderful about page that you can find here, http://sharonsews.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html.
Sharon has a great sense of style  and a great eye for combining fabrics like the tunic below.

Below are details from a skirt that is currently in progress.
Check out the detail she added to cover up a zipper that does not match. So pretty. Can't wait to see the finished skirt!
Sharon does other projects besides clothing, like this cute potholder.
The stitching is so lovely.
Great idea for a tab hanger. But here's my question, how can you bear to wrap this around a pot?!!!
Below is an infinity dress that Sharon designed. You can find the post here.
Adorable aprons published in the Sew It All magazine.
And last, but definitely not least in my book anyway,
a person who sews for their dogs is tops in my book!!!!!

Well, another Wednesday Showcase comes to an end and we're walking away a little richer. So nice!
Hope your week is going well.
Have a wonderful day!
Rhonda

    1. Next to a good laugh, I love a good surprise. I love doing this post and surprising the person whose blog I showcase. It was a joy to go through your blog and see all of you beautiful pieces.
I too hope that I'll be able to come at least for a little bit. I am having surgery on Thursday and I'm not sure of how I will be feeling by Saturday afternoon. Hopefully, well enough for at least a short visit:)
