Wow, I feel so out of touch! I missed two weeks of doing the Wednesday Showcase, so no new friends. Today will take care of that as I have two lovely ladies to introduce you to.
First though, before we get started, I just have to share with you what I did yesterday morning. I met Miss Mari of http://disparatedisciplines.com/!! I showcased her here, just a little over a month ago. When I did the showcase I found out that she too lives in Chicago and as it turns out, she is quite close to me. Mari emailed and told me that this wonderful fabric warehouse here in Chicago was sponsoring a Groupon type deal and asked if I might like to meet for a shopping trip. Hey, I don't turn down looking at fabric and I will never turn down a deal on fabric. When I picked her up yesterday, first of all, she looked so cute all decked out in her own creations, but she was wearing this hat,
Textile Discount Fabrics with our coupons in hand. If you are ever in Chicago, this is a must see place. There are three floors of fabric, you'll need to dig and by all means, you shouldn't be in a hurry. Mari and I both manged to spend our coupons and walk away with what we both felt were treasures as well as bargains. I'll share my finds in later posts. I had such a delightful morning with Mari. A little news, she will be doing a guest post for Fabulous Free Pattern Friday in a few weeks, so stay tuned!!! Wow, do I love Wednesdays!!!!!
So on to our two fabulous ladies.
First up is Linda of http://danvillegirl.blogspot.com/. Many of you may know her,but if you don't, be prepared to be inspired. Her creations are so lovely. Here's a short description, "A native of Danville, VA, I have lived in VA, TX, CA, FL, PA and now back in Virginia. I have been sewing since Junior High School. I like to sew fashion garments. I have made items for the Sulky Challenge and made numerous wearable art jackets, purses and vests in the past. Member of Roanoke Chapter of ASG."
Next up is http://sewnotwork.wordpress.com/. She has only been blogging for a very short time, September of this year. A big welcome to the blogging world! Here's her description.
"I’m a wife, mother, and medical professional who tries to do some cooking, sewing, crafts, and other projects in my spare time. Other interests include piano, singing, outdoor activities, camping, watercolor, calligraphy (not all of these I have found time to do). I want to be a positive influence where I am and am a follower of Jesus Christ."
I was initially introduced to her when I received a message about the Mestiza sleeve I did here for Sleeves On Saturdays. Here is the jacket she created.
here. This is a lady who I am truly looking forward to getting to know as she is such a wonderful inspiration.
Okay, I feel better now. I've had my Wednesday Showcase fix and I can move on with my day!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week.
